Fund ‚‚Organic Serbia’’ was founded on 30th of April, 2007. Its members are experts and laymen alike – the lovers of healthy life and healthy food: producers, processors and the distributors of organic food, as well as the organisations and individuals willing to contribute to the goals of the Fund.
- Development, propagation and advancement of the organic agriculture and a healthy rural ambient in Serbia, as well as the advancement of the sustainable social development.
- Education of the farmers in the technologies of the organic agriculture: field crop management, gardening, viticulture, fruit growing, production of the spices and medicinal plants, gathering of the wild crops, apiery and milk production.
Education in the development and application of clean technologies and the sustainable social and natural resources and energy.
- Organisation of the scientific and professional congresses, symposiums, seminars and meetings dedicated to organic agriculture.
- Development of consciousness and the dessemination of the information on the advantages of the organic food over the conventional and specially, in relation to the quality and safety of food (absence of the polutants and genetically modified organisms).
- Cooperation with the Parliament and the Government of Serbia in order for the Government of Serbia to:
- Harmonize the domestic laws with the laws and standards of EU.
- Provide for the tax and other incentives to the organic farmers
- Provide for the grants to organic farmers
- Provide the long-term credits with the low interest rate and a long enough grace period for the start-up of the production of the organic food.
- Provide for the incentives for the promotion of organic production and its sales, through the public media, such as: televison, radio, internet and press.
- Organisation of the fairs and the festivals of organic food
- Organizing the farmers, processors and the distributors in the specialized associations
- Support to the development of certification bodies in Serbia.
